The study looked at how much disability is caused by lower back pain globally. It found that lower back pain caused more disability than any other condition, affecting nearly 1 in 10 people and becoming more common with increasing age.
Most people don't know what to do to reduce and prevent back pain and often do nothing about it, through fear of it getting worse leading to a sedentary lifestyle.

Your Pilates instructor is an extremely talented Pilates Instructor and Personal Trainer with 20 years’ experience of treating and managing acute and chronic back pain. Previously he was working with the Australian Olympic team who experienced debilitating injuries whilst training extensively.
Owen has suffered acute back pain himself from an injury and ended up with a spinal stress fracture in his lower back. This led to severe pain and a need for weeks of rehabilitation and treatment. During this time he learnt how to manage her own back pain through Pilates, posture, treatment and careful exercise.
Let Owen guide you through the exercises used to recover and manage his own back pain, as well as what watching Owen’s 50 min tutorial on how to perform the movements safely, using the breathe and advice that he gives his students who are coming back from injury and wanting long lasting relief from back pain. We have also selected 3 videos that will help you stretch out your back, open up the spinal, hips and chest areas using 'Yin Yoga' which will allow you to move easily and safely in a way that compresses and decompresses enabling the body to release tension and relax muscles that can often be the reason for pain. Rebecca and Katy both qualified in Yin Yoga have recorded their classes for different areas of the body.
