New to Yoga?

It’s time to roll out your yoga mat and discover how good you can feel with the combination of physical and mental exercises.  Whether you are young or old, overweight or fit, yoga has the power to calm the mind and strengthen the body. Don’t be intimidated by yoga terminology, going to a yoga studio or complicated poses. Yoga is for everyone.

What will the course cover?

Katy will teach you all the essentials you will need to begin your yoga journey, she will demonstrate first, then she can watch you using our interactive portal that allows for everyone to hear and see each other.  She will instil you with the confidence to attend regular classes online or begin a home-practice, so get started.

Who is it aimed at?

Complete beginners who have never done yoga before. So your fellow yogi learners will be in the same boat as everyone will be a beginner.

You will learn some key postures from each of the main groups including standing poses, forward & back bends, twists, sun salutations and simple inversions. We will also look at the importance of alignment in all postures, how to work towards experiencing ease & stability in your poses and the importance of the breath – its effect on your practice and using it as a simple way to start meditating.

We often get asked: what happens if I can't touch my toes? Or if I'm not flexible at all?  That's ok, it's normal, thats why we are hear to help you. All our learners start from this base, both men and women.

Course Curriculum:

Week one

Overview of yoga postures and introduction to some basic postures and movements, such as downward facing dog pose and basic sun salutations – learn safe and strong alignment tips. Introduction to simple meditation and breathing and their benefits. Introduction to Savasana, the final relaxation pose.

Week two

Introduction to some key standing postures, their purpose and benefits. Poses covered will include Mountain, Crescent Moon Lunge, Warrior l and Warrior ll. We will also look at balancing postures such as Tree and Warrior lll. Followed by a short meditation and breathing practice.

Week three

Introduction to how to move through the spine in your yoga practice – we will learn how to safely elongate and strengthen the spine through backbends. This class will end by looking at seated postures such as forward folds and twists. Followed by a short meditation and breathing practice.

Week four

Bringing together everything we have covered so far into a full class practice including elements of pranayama, postures and meditation. Another chance to ask questions guidance on where to go next with your yoga practice.


How much is it?

£20 for a series of 4 classes of around 45 mins each with an expiry of 4 weeks.  That's only £5.00 a class....
